MAHA SIVARATTHRI

AUM SRI SAI RAM

This year Mahasivarathri was celebrated on 20 th Feb 2012 with usual vigour and without the physical presence of Bhagavan .Sivarathri is celebrated for eliminating evils and ignorance. On this auspicious night Lord  Siva is worshipped in the form of JyothirLinga. It is in the  form of fire which has no end or beginning.

May omnipresent Bhagavan bless all of us, though the gatherings and involvement  in most of the Sai centres are not up to the mark of expectation.

IMPORTANCE OF NAMASMARANA

AUM SRI SAI RAM
Do n't be hasty in doing things.Do n't be go astray with things.Do n't be disheartened.Do utter the name of God always. That is the only way to achieve the goal of life during Kaliyuga.Do namasmarana always. No particular name is necessary  because all the names denote the only one divinity.Hence speak good words that would spread goodness and act that would bring happiness and prosperity to all.
Singing Bhajans is an easy way of namasmara. We should sing bhajans with devotion and full throated voice and also loudly.Do n't be shy in singing bhajans or do n't be afraid of chanting the names of Lord. When we sing bhajans everybody and every thing in and around us will be purified and cleansed. Bhagavan want all of us sing bhajans loudly and clearly with full throated voice. When we do service or seva, we get strained physically. But singing bhajans is easy for every one which gives a chance to us for interacting with God. So also take part in nagara sankeerthana  too whenever possible for taking part in nagara sankeerthana is equivalent to seven session of bhajan singing.

UTHISTTHA JAGRATHA

AUM SRI SAI RAM AUM SRI SAI RAM

There  is a wide gap of time since my last blog.Due to unavoidable circumstances,no blog was cleared. During this period our beloved Bhagavan left his mortal coil i.e on 24 th April 2011. Now Bhagavan has inspired me to continue with blog for the benefit of the mankind.DURING THIS YEAR WE ARE CELEBRATING  the 150 th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanada . Swami Vivekanada was an inspiring spiritual personality of Bharath who has introduced Hindu Mythology to the Western world for the first time. Bhagavan on several occasions in his dicourses asked the student community to accept Swami VIvekanda as their role model. Actually Swamiji has influenced a lot in moulding the curiculam of BhagAvan's schools and colleges.
Here are some of the thought provoking quotes of Swami Vivekanda.

1) It is our own mental attitude which makes the world what it is for us.Our thoughts make things beautiful and our thoughts make things ugly also.
2) Tell the truth boldly whether it hurts  others or not.
3) We believe every being is divine or God. Every soul is a sun covered with the cloud of ignorance. Difference between each soul is the difference in layers of these clouds.
4) If money help a man do good,it is of some value, but if not, it is simply a mass of evil.
5)We are suffering from our own karma .It is not the fault of God, but it is the fault of ours . Why should then God be blamed.

A TRUE SAI DEVOTEE

AUM SRI SAI RAM    AUM SRI SAI RAM

To be a good sai devotee, one should see Ram within him.All sai devotees when meet together exchange pleasantaries by saying 'SAI RAM' Most of us do not know the inner meaning of 'sai ram'.It is Rama Taraka Mantra- a mantra which will help the devotees attain self realisation .In otherwords this manthra help devotees see God ( Ram) within. For this one should understand the true meaning of 'sai' which is illustrated below.
(1)      SAI--------------SEARCH ALWAYS INSIDE
(2)      SAI------------    SEEK   ALWAYS INSIDE
 (3)     SAI                        SEE    ALWAYS INSIDE
In the first step to see Rama , one has to search for Ram within himself .Rama is called ' Maryada Purushothama' ,man of righteous conduct. A devotee can not see Rama unless he practises what he preaches. He should subject himself  into self introspection and he should conduct boundless  search for virtues within himself.
The next step is seeking Ram.The first step of searching of Ram within a devotee will help him seek Ram.When mind and body get purified by the search of Ram , then by seeking one will see  Ram  within him. because SAI is the indweller in our heart.
Chanting Divine Manthras, Namasankeerthana, Singing Bhajans etc will make one see the DIVINITY within. Thus Nama Smarana or SAIEEKRTHANAM awakens the deepdesire of the devotees to get liberated fro the bondages of birth and death. and one will the become Jeevan Muktha

FASTING - A RITUAL

AUM SRI SAI RAM AUM SRI SAI RAM

Our ancestors realised that fasting is not only a ritual ,but also a practical way of life.Usually we focuss only upon the spiritual values of fasting ,but ignore its practical benefits.Remember that Mahatma Gandhi used fasing as a powerful weapon during freedom struggle. However here the spiritual values of fasting are discussed.Fasting on a new moon day is to please Gods.It helps the devotees achieve wealth health and what not.On the day of fastig taking bath at piligrim centres and offering to the deities are prescribed. On the previous day of fasting one should take only single food.As the moon has an influence on the earth fasting on the new moon day helps devotees alleviate illeffects on the body. Our forefathers realised the effects of moon on human body very well.Fasting on Shashti is considered to please Lord Subramania.Shashti is the sixth lunar day.On the day of Shashti one should take bath early in the morning and visit temples of Subramania swamy and offer poojas to deities.
