ABOUT ISAVASYA UPANISHAD

AUM SRI SAI RAM AUM SRI SAI RAM It is one of the important upanishads of Yajur Veda. It contains 18 mantras. The essence of all upanishads are contained in these mantras.The first mantra saya' Isavaasyam idam Sarvam yat Knnchya Jagatyam Jagat'.Since first mantra of this upanishad starts with   'Isavasyam'    the upanishad is  called by    'Isavasya Upanishad'.The meaning of the mantra is that the everyting in this  world is enveloped by the Lord who is Real Reality.This mantra teaches us that the highest happiness is obtained by way of sacrifice ( thyaga) for others' happiness. The second mantra teaches us to do duties in the world  in the destruction of three urges i.e for a mate, for progeny, and for wealth. The third mantra says one who sees God everywhere and in every thing and within oneself will see no misery.In the fourth mantra  to eigth mantra speaks of Atmathatwa and later of fruits of knowledge of that atmathatwa.From 9th to 14 th mantra it speaks of progressive liberation or karmamukthi. These are for those who are weak to follow the total path of    renunciation . but who are adepts in acts that are conducive to moral development and inner purification. In the last four mantras there are prayers  of sadhaka (spiritual seeker) during the last span of his life
