It is the shortest Upanishad. It is in prose, consisting of twelve verses ,expounding the syllabi 'Aum'. The Mandukya Upanishad which talks about all other upanishads says that this upanishad alone will be enough for attaining salvation.Dr. S. Radhakrishnan says that it contains the fundamental approach to Reality.This Upanishad starts with assertion that this universe is immersed in Brahman and this Universe itself is Brahman.
The pinnacle of the wisdom and practices of the ancient sages of yoga is contained in the twelve verses of thisUpanishad. This Upanishad outlines the philosophy and practices of OM Mantra.It has been said that the juice of vedas is inthe Upanishads and the juice of the Upanishads is in the Mandukya Upanishad.
