Today is the Valmiki Jayanthy.The birth day of the sage Valmiki is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu calender Aswin. He is well known for the creation of epic RAMAYANA, which is the life story of Lord Shri Rama.Ramayana is considered to be the Aadi Kaviya and Sage Valmiki as Aadi Kavi(first poet). There are numerous legends regarding the tranformation of Retnakaran ,a hunter by profession as SAGE VALMIKI.Kodi Pranam at the lotus feet of Maharshi Valmiki on this auspicious day
